First Innings: Cork Harlequins CC 1st XI

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Cork Harlequins CC were restricted to a total of 107 all out in exactly 20 overs.

The innings began unsteadily as opener Adam Hickey was dismissed for a duck in the first over by Thorne Prophet, caught by Nabeel Anjum. Skipper Matthew Brewster (9) and R Joyce (6) made brief contributions but were dismissed by W Shields and Siddharth Joshi respectively, leaving Harlequins at 45 for 3.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Shivam Kislay anchored the innings from the top order, scoring a resilient 49 runs off 46 balls, including six boundaries. He received  support from Seanan Jones (11), but the middle and lower order struggled to build partnerships against a disciplined bowling attack.

The standout performance came from Cork County bowler Nabeel Anjum, who ripped through the lower order to claim an exceptional 5 wickets for just 14 runs across his 5 overs. Second Innings: Cork County CC 1st XI

Chasing a target of 108, Cork County CC reached the mark comfortably, finishing on 111 for 2 in 14.2 overs to secure an 8-wicket victory.

Opening batsman Rajwardhan Undre was the first to fall for 12, caught by Shivam Kislay off the bowling of Matthew Brewster with the score at 22. This brought Donald Marakassery to the crease to join Brian Upman. The pair shared a decisive 74-run partnership for the second wicket, taking the score to 96 before Marakassery was bowled by Michael Higgins for 33 off 34 balls (including 3 fours and 2 sixes).

Brian Upman remained unbeaten at the end, anchoring the chase with a half-century. Upman scored 51* off 39 deliveries, a knock that included 1 four and 5 sixes. Josh Hartill (2*) was at the crease with Upman when the winning runs were hit in the 15th over. Result: Nenagh CC 1st XI won by 7 wickets

First Innings: Midleton CC 2nd XI

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Midleton CC 2nd XI were dismissed for 97 runs in 32.1 overs.

The home side established a steady start, navigating the initial overs to reach 50 runs in 14.2 overs. Opener Faraz ur rehman Sharif top-scored for Midleton with a patient 29 runs off 53 balls, while skipper Naman Gandhi contributed 10 before falling to Naveen George. Sunny Dhiver added 13 runs off 43 deliveries to leave Midleton in a relatively stable position at 65 for 1.

However, the introduction of Sreenivas Pockathara Maniappan triggered a significant batting collapse. From 65 for 1, Midleton lost their remaining 9 wickets for just 32 runs. Maniappan dismantled the lineup, finishing with remarkable figures of 6 wickets for 15 runs across his 7 overs. He claimed the wickets of Dhiver, Adeel Rafi Ahmed (9), Jigar Vyas (4), Avinash Nagarajan (1), Fayyaz Khan (2), and Danish Iqbal (6).

Nenagh lost their first wicket early when Sreehari Vinobaji (11) was caught by Fayyaz Khan off the bowling of Danish Iqbal with the total at 15. Opening batsman and captain Vimal John Mathai then anchored the successful run chase. Mathai played a disciplined, unbeaten innings of 41 runs off 59 balls, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Mathai formed a solid second-wicket partnership of 47 runs with Roshan Patel (17) before Patel was dismissed by Faraz ur rehman Sharif. Sharif struck again a few overs later, removing Cinulal Varickatharappel for 12 to finish with figures of 2 for 12 from his 4 overs. Despite these minor setbacks, Tony Kurian (9*) joined Mathai to ensure no further losses, crossing the required target in the 24th over.

Result: Limerick Blasters CC 1st XI won by 26 runs

First Innings: Limerick Blasters CC 1st XI

After being put in to bat by County Kerry CC 2nd XI, the Limerick Blasters CC 1st XI recovered from a slow start to post a total of 163 all out in 40.2 overs.

The Blasters struggled early in the Powerplay, losing opener Anunath Gopinathan Valsala (1) to Ananya Mishra and George Raju (5) to Majid Yousaf, leaving the score at 9 for 2. Rahul Poulose and Prestige Jaison stabilized the innings with a 50-run partnership for the third wicket. Jaison struck 26 runs off 46 balls before falling to Adil Rahil, while Poulose compiled a patient 28 runs from 80 deliveries.

The scoring rate accelerated with the arrival of Jeffin Mathew, who top-scored with a quickfire 35 runs off 16 balls, featuring 5 sixes, before becoming Adil Rahil’s second victim. The lower order added useful runs through Thomas Raju (12), Dileep Raveendran Nair (11), and Rahul R Nair (10) to guide the team past 150.

For County Kerry, Ananya Mishra was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 15 runs from 7.2 overs. Adil Rahil (2/38), Usman Butt (2/23), and Niyaz Safi (2/34) all picked up brace wickets to restrict the visitors.

County Kerry started their chase efficiently, reaching 40 before Kamran Muhammad (20) was bowled by Jeffin Mathew. Sohaib Asghar Chohan (12) and Usman Butt (0) fell shortly after, leaving Kerry at 54 for 3. Zeeshan Arif then anchored the middle order with a top score of 37 runs off 52 balls, keeping his team in contention as they reached 101 for 3.

However, the match turned sharply in favor of the Blasters due to a definitive spell from captain Thomas Raju. Raju dismissed Arif to break the partnership and took a second wicket on the very next ball, removing Alvin Rahman Fahad for a duck. The hosts suffered a major collapse, losing 5 wickets for just 7 runs to slip to 108 for 8.

First Innings: Cork Harlequins CC 2nd XI

After being put in to bat by Clare CC 2nd XI, Cork Harlequins CC 2nd XI struggled to build momentum and were dismissed for 108 runs in 39.4 overs.

The Harlequins top order faced disciplined bowling from the outset, losing opener Zeeshan Ullah (3) to K Javed in the fifth over. Jatin Jaitley made a patient 9 off 37 balls before falling to S Pannerselvam, while Z Baramatiwala (7) was bowled by Mushtaq Safi, leaving the visitors at 31 for 3. Faizan Gul and Umer Khan both reached double figures with 10 runs each, but neither could convert their starts as Safi continued to breakthrough.

The lower-middle order offered minimal resistance, with skipper Vikranth Masina contributing 8 runs, while Magesh Kumar was run out for a duck. Useful tail-end contributions from Michael Higgins (8), Haris Patrick Raj Henry (9), and an unbeaten 10 from Jayanth Komala helped push the total past the 100-mark. Match: Cork County CC 4th XI vs. Limerick CC 4th XI

Date: 23 May 2026

Venue: The Manor Fields Adare, Adare

Result: Limerick CC 4th XI won by 3 wickets

First Innings: Cork County CC 4th XI

After being put in to bat by Limerick CC 4th XI, Cork County CC 4th XI overcame a poor start to post a total of 179 all out in 39.3 overs.

The visitors suffered immediate setbacks, slipping to 2 for 2 within the first two overs after opener Ahmar Ahsan (2) was dismissed by Arham Ullah and AA Muhammad (0) fell to Khushal Bahramkhel. K Gude and Muhammad Zaid Akram rebuilt the innings with a 92-run partnership for the third wicket. Akram compiled 37 runs off 56 balls before becoming Muhammad khan Azizuallah’s first victim.

Akram‘s dismissal triggered a middle-order collapse as Azizuallah struck three more times in quick succession, removing Mohammad Abas Faizi (5), William Quinn (0), and Arvin Monteiro (0) to reduce County to 109 for 6. Gude continued to hold the innings together, top-scoring with 48 runs off 110 deliveries before he was finally dismissed by Azizuallah. Skipper Mohammed Huzaif Hussain Siddiqui contributed an unbeaten 15 to guide the tail toward a final total of 179. The score was significantly aided by 62 extras, including 54 wides.

For Limerick, Muhammad khan Azizuallah was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 47 from his 8 overs, while Arham Ullah delivered an economical spell of 3 for 23.

Second Innings: Limerick CC 4th XI

Chasing a target of 180, Limerick CC 4th XI endured a late batting collapse before closing out a 3-wicket victory, finishing on 180 for 7 in 32.4 overs.

Limerick’s chase was built around a substantial third-wicket partnership between opener chiranjeevi Basavaraj Totad and wicketkeeper Skandan Lakshmanan. The match shifted late in the innings when Arvin Monteiro bowled Lakshmanan, triggering a collapse where Limerick lost 5 wickets for just 16 runs. Senan O’Connell spearheaded the fightback for Cork County, removing Totad, Khushal Bahramkhel (4), and Shaheer Akhtar (0) to leave the hosts reeling at 136 for 7.

However, Deepak Nagaraju managed the pressure effectively, hitting an unbeaten 28* off 21 balls. He was joined by Arham Ullah (13*), and the duo shared an unbroken 44-run partnership to secure the victory. For Cork County, Senan O’Connell finished with impressive figures of 4 for 41, and Arvin Monteiro took 2 for 14.

Women’s Super League — Week 6 Match Report

Match: Lismore CC Women vs. County Galway CC W

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Lismore CC Women were restricted to 39 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 12.4 overs before the innings concluded.

Lismore’s batting lineup struggled to establish substantial partnerships against a disciplined County Galway bowling attack. Opening batter V Deshmukh (2) was the first to fall, bowled by S Rathnayaka in the third over. Team captain and wicketkeeper S Donohoe compiled the longest stay at the crease, scoring 5 runs off 22 deliveries before being run out with the score at 19.

Subsequent batters found it difficult to accelerate, with Lara Byrne contributing 3 runs, Hajra Ismail adding 2, and Sukhi Byrne top-scoring for the side with 6 runs from 8 balls.

County Galway experienced an early setback when opener S Rathnayaka (7) was bowled by Hajra Ismail in the second over. Ismail struck again in her next over, trapping Sasindi Guruge lbw for 2 to reduce Galway to 18 for 2.

Following the two quick wickets, opening batter E Maxfield and wicketkeeper T Browne safely guided their side across the finishing line. Maxfield remained unbeaten on 6 runs from 14 balls, while Browne contributed 5* from 22 balls. 

For Lismore, Hajra Ismail was the sole wicket-taker, finishing with competitive figures of 2 for 12 from her 2.3 overs of excellent line-and-length bowling.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Cork Harlequins CC 3rd XI posted a total of 163 for 9 in their allocated 40 overs.

The visitors suffered an early setback, collapsing to 30 for 3 within the first 7 overs. H Ahsan (0) fell early to Naveen George, while opener Jithin John (17) was dismissed by Jomy Joseph. Following the run-out of Saravanan Kannan (0), Sachin Yewale and captain B Ahsan stabilized the innings with a 73-run partnership for the fourth wicket. B Ahsan contributed 25 runs before being trapped lbw by SIBIN JACOB, while Yewale compiled a resilient 32 runs off 68 balls before being dismissed by Amit Gupta.

A middle-order slip saw Harlequins drop to 125 for 8, with Jayanth Komala (0), Indika Sanjeewa Abeywickrama Dhanapala (1), and Ammar Maqbool (1) falling in quick succession. However, D Divakaran provided a vital late-innings contribution, scoring 33 runs off 45 deliveries. He was supported by A Gumber (3*) to lift the total.

For Nenagh CC, Amit Gupta was the most effective bowler, taking 2 for 21 from his 8 overs, while SIBIN JACOB also picked up a brace with 2 for 25.

Second Innings: Nenagh CC 2nd XI

Nenagh CC 2nd XI chased down the target with comfort, reaching 166 for 2 in 30.1 overs to claim an 8-wicket victory on home turf.

The chase suffered an immediate hitch on the very first delivery of the innings when wicketkeeper Mohesh Mahi was caught off the bowling of B Ahsan for a duck. This brought Tony Kurian to the crease to partner captain Jibin Scaria, and the pair composed a vital 92-run stand for the second wicket. Kurian fell just short of a half-century, trapped lbw by A Gumber for 44 runs off 58 deliveries.

Jomy Joseph then joined Scaria and accelerated the scoring rate significantly, striking a rapid 46* off just 34 balls, an innings featuring 7 fours and a six. Scaria played an anchoring role at the other end, finishing unbeaten on 37 runs from 92 balls. The Harlequins bowling attack found it difficult to maintain control, conceding 39 extras, which included 36 wides, as Nenagh crossed the target in the 31st over.

Hero of the Match

Jomy Joseph (Nenagh CC 2nd XI) While Tony Kurian and Jibin Scaria built the definitive platform for the victory, Jomy Joseph is named the hero of the match. His disciplined opening bowling spell yielded 1 for 20 to restrict the Harlequins top order, and he followed it up with a counter-attacking, unbeaten 46* to  take the game away from the visitors in the second innings.


MCU Division 2 — Week 6 Match Report

Match: Clare CC 3rd XI vs. Waterford Vikings 1st XI

Result: Clare CC 3rd XI won by 131 runs

First Innings: Clare CC 3rd XI

After being put in to bat by the Waterford Vikings 1st XI, Clare CC 3rd XI recovered from early top-order disruptions to post a competitive total of 221 all out in 38.3 overs.

The hosts faced immediate trouble as opening bowler J Kuriakose tore through the top order, dismissing M Salman (2), Daniyal Shams (20), and R Shahid (1) to leave Clare at 33 for 3. When Raj More (6) fell to Vishnu Suresh Syamala, the innings was in the balance at 49 for 4.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Johnson Navroop anchored the recovery, scoring a resilient 47 runs off 67 balls. He found an able partner in Chandrasekaran Palanisamy, who struck 35 runs off 40 balls, sharing a crucial 62-run partnership for the sixth wicket to rebuild the innings. Following their departures, A Mukthar provided significant late-order impetus, clearing the boundary for 4 sixes in a quickfire 34 off 18 balls. Useful tail-end contributions from Sapan Kale (16*) and Muhammad Zaryab Feroze (14) pushed the final total past 200.

For the Vikings, J Kuriakose delivered an outstanding spell, finishing as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5 for 28 from 7.3 overs. F Francis (1/33), Jobin Baby (1/40), Vishnu Suresh Syamala (1/48), and Vipin Abraham (1/30) each claimed a single wicket.

Second Innings: Waterford Vikings 1st XI

In reply, the Waterford Vikings 1st XI batting lineup collapsed under consistent pressure from the Clare bowlers, bowled out for 90 runs in 26.1 overs.

The chase started with a brisk 20 runs off 19 balls from J Kuriakose before he was caught off Sapan Kale. From that point on, the Vikings found it difficult to form partnerships. Shubham Salunke top-scored for the visitors with a patient 24 off 45 deliveries, and wicketkeeper Rijosh Sebastian contributed 10, but the remainder of the batting order struggled.

From 61 for 2, the visitors suffered a definitive collapse, losing their final 8 wickets for just 29 runs. Off-spinner R Shahid triggered the slide, taking 3 for 18 from his 8 overs, including the key wickets of Sunil Manikkoth (1), Salunke, and captain F Francis (6). Match: Lismore CC 1st XI vs. County Kerry CC 3rd XI

Date: 24 May 2026

Venue: Oyster Oval, Tralee

Result: Lismore CC 1st XI won by 4 runs

First Innings: Lismore CC 1st XI

After being put in to bat by County Kerry CC 3rd XI, Lismore CC 1st XI posted a total of 128 all out in 34.4 overs.

Lismore established a stable opening platform, with Sarath Jose and Jomy Kuriachan putting on 39 runs before Kuriachan (6) was caught off Joshua Thulasi Raman. Sarath Jose went on to score a vital 36 off 51 balls, hitting 3 boundaries. However, his dismissal triggered a middle-order collapse, as Atul Wavhal (1), Milind Yadav (4), and Vins Jose (7) fell in quick succession, reducing Lismore to 70 for 5.

A Veera provided a crucial late-innings rescue for the visitors, top-scoring with a brisk 41 off 37 deliveries, an innings that included 3 fours and 3 sixes. He found brief support from Jibrin Augustine (3) to guide the team past the 120-mark before the tail was wrapped up.

For County Kerry, Joshua Thulasi Raman led the attack with excellent figures of 3 for 26 from 8 overs. Prince Thomas also proved effective, returning 3 for 29 from 7 overs, while Devon Janjetich chipped in with 2 for 13.

Chasing a modest target of 129 runs, County Kerry CC 3rd XI fell just short, bowled out for 124 in 36.4 overs to give Lismore a narrow 4-run victory.

The Kerry chase started with reasonable momentum but suffered early blows, slipping to 35 for 3 inside 8 overs. Shreyas Padmanabha Sharma Beedubail (19) and Stephen Jonnalagadda (1) were both dismissed by A Veera, while Sonu Sabu (2) was taken by Jayamohan Kuruvilla. Libin Philip (14) and captain Devon Janjetich then stabilized the innings with a 45-run partnership. Janjetich made a notable 30 runs off 49 balls, including 4 boundaries, before becoming Veera’s third victim.

Following Janjetich‘s departure with the score at 80, the Lismore bowlers applied immense pressure. Milind Yadav tore through the lower order, dismissing Joshua Thulasi Raman (2), Godwin Jebadas (5), and finally wrapping up the match by getting K Subramanian (6) caught out in the 37th over. Jibrin Augustine also picked up important wickets, including Jithu Jayaprakash (1), to finish with 2 for 25.

A Veera was the standout bowler for the visitors, delivering a highly economical spell of 3 for 14 from his 8 overs.

First Innings: United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Midleton CC 3rd XI restricted United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI to 171 all out in 37.1 overs.

Clonmel struggled early in the Powerplay, losing Muhammad Arbaz Amjad Kushar (2) and Robin Raj (10) to leave the score at 18 for 2. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sarath Divakaran anchored the innings, compiling a resilient 59 runs off 90 balls, including 7 boundaries. He stabilized the side by forming a 69-run fourth-wicket partnership with captain Linto Jose Parokaran, who scored 26 off 29 deliveries.

The innings faltered after their departures, with the side slipping from 124 for 3 to 171 all out. Lower-order contributions came from Banu Yadav (15), but the final wickets fell quickly. Clonmel’s total was boosted by 41 extras, including 36 wides.

For Midleton, Nitin Patil led the bowling attack with highly economical figures of 3 for 18 from his 8 overs. Naveen Kumar Siddotam (2/29), Srini Chappa (2/41), and Sugadev Suman (2/18) all picked up brace wickets to keep the hosts in check.

Second Innings: Midleton CC 3rd XI

Chasing a target of 172 runs, Midleton CC 3rd XI completed the pursuit in 34.4 overs, finishing on 175 for 6 to secure a 4-wicket victory.

The visitors established a powerful opening platform, with Nitin Patil and R Muhammad sharing an 80-run partnership for the first wicket. Patel scored 31 runs off 48 balls, hitting 5 fours and a six, while Muhammad contributed a patient 27 off 34 balls. Clonmel bowler Henry Michael struck back rapidly in the 14th over, clean-bowling both openers to leave Midleton at 81 for 2.

The home side continued to chip away at the middle order via Ashan Wijesinghe, who claimed the wickets of Mehul Dugar (12) and Shubham Bhushan Khopade (15). When captain Simon McKeown (10) fell to Anand Thekkumcheril Jacob, Midleton were at a more precarious 135 for 5. However, Arun Kumar R guided his side across the line with an unbeaten 18* off 30 balls, supported by Naveen Kumar Siddotam (9*). The chase was also heavily assisted by 48 extras, including 40 wides conceded by Clonmel.

Henry Michael (2/27) and Ashan Wijesinghe (2/18) were the pick of the bowlers for the hosts.

Nitin Patil (Midleton CC 3rd XI) While Sarath Divakaran played an excellent half-century for Clonmel, Nitin Patil is named the hero of the match for a decisive all-round performance. His disciplined bowling figures of 3 for 18 halted Clonmel’s early momentum, and his top-scoring knock of 31 at the top of the order broke the back of the run chase to ensure Midleton secured the points.
