The annual U17 Challenge Series against Leinster took place over two days at the Mardyke with the sides sharing the spoils 1-1. Leinster travelled with a strong squad containing a sprinkling of Irish and representative players.

The Munster boys recorded an impressive 8 wicket victory on Day 1 after they bowled out the visitors for just 137 with Kruger (3-30) and Zaizai (2-17) the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Munster reached the target with the loss of just 2 wickets thanks to composed batting displays from Vosloo (43*) and man of the match Brandon Kruger (33*).

Leinster rebounded on Day 2 with a commanding 6 wicket win thanks to a strong bowling display from Vincent (3-8), Keohane (2-22) and Graham (2-32) which restricted the Munstermen to 153 from 28 overs.

Leinster knocked off the runs in the 28th over with the loss of just 4 wickets thanks to a half century from Black (57) and contributions from Cosgrave (36) and Calder (31*).

Game 1

Munster 138-2 (Vosloo 43*, Kruger 33*, Brewster 25, Buss 21) beat Leinster137 all out (Kruger 3-30, Zaizai 2-17) by 8 wickets.

Game 2

Munster 153-8 (28 overs; Hassan 42, Egerton 33, Vincent 3-8, Keohane 2-22, Graham 2-32) lost to Leinster 157-4 (27.4 overs; Black 57, Cosgrave 36, Calder 31*) by 6 wickets.
