School & Club Engagement Officer (Limerick & Clare)
Munster Cricket is seeking a School and Club Engagement Officer to lead cricket participation and development across Limerick and Clare. Working under the direction of the Munster Cricket CEO, you will deliver key strategic priorities for both Munster Cricket and Cricket Ireland, combining national programme leadership with on-the-ground local growth.
In this dual-focused role, you will act as the Provincial Lead for National Participation Programmes in the region, including Smash It! and It’s Wicket!, planning and delivering high-quality activity in schools and communities. You will also drive local cricket development by strengthening school engagement, building clear school-to-club transition pathways, supporting club sustainability, and developing strong partnerships across education, sport, and the voluntary sector throughout Limerick and Clare.
Role Summary
The role leads Cricket Ireland entry-level programmes (including Smash It! and It’s Wicket!) across the region, working with the Cricket Ireland Participation Team to ensure safe, consistent delivery. Key duties include training and supporting activators/volunteers, running school roadshows and taster sessions, coordinating participant experiences at provincial or major fixtures, and monitoring and reporting on programme outcomes. It also focuses on school engagement in Limerick and Clare through partnerships, pathway activity, competitions, teacher/coach support, and improving school-to-club conversion, alongside direct club and community development (junior sections, hubs, camps, inclusive participation, and partnerships with LSPs and local stakeholders).
Administration includes maintaining accurate programme records, supporting budgets, and producing reports and promotional communications. General duties cover assisting with funding applications, acting as an ambassador for the strategy, and ensuring safeguarding and health & safety compliance, plus attending relevant meetings and training. Essential requirements include current legal right to work in Ireland, at least one year’s coaching and programme-delivery experience (especially ages 5–13), strong communication and stakeholder skills, a full driving licence with access to a vehicle, and successful Garda/Police vetting. Preferred: cricket and Irish sports-system knowledge, leadership and initiative, IT/digital competence, and flexibility for evenings/weekends.
