The Munster Cricket Executive Board held it’s first meeting for 2019 on Tuesday, 8th January, at the River Lee Hotel in Cork.

The main item discussed, following on from the presentation made at the AGM by our Strategic Advisor , Maeve Buckley, were the future terms of reference for the Executive Board and it’s proposed sub-committees being Cricket Operations , Commercial and Participation and Pathways. Based on the feedback received at the meeting, further work will be undertaken to finalise these documents. It continues to be the objective to have these proposals and any necessary amendments to the Constitution ratified at an EGM in March.

Following Jim Doran’s retirement from the position of RDO on 31 December, the Board has commenced consideration of the job specification for the new role(s) which will be put in place to continue development work across Munster and also address other management needs within Munster Cricket. Further work will be done in conjuction with Cricket Ireland to ensure the new role or roles meet the identified needs of Munster Cricket. It is hoped that that this process can be completed and appointments made by April of this year.

The Board noted the sucessful completion of Autumn Training programmes in Little Island for groups at U11, U13 and U15 levels and thanks were expressed to Ted Williamson, John Buss, Abdul Younus and Ben Huskinson for their input into these programmes . Similar training programmes will take place from January to April of this year plus sessions for the 15+ age group in Bandon Grammar School.

Progess is ongoing in finalising League and Cup Structures for 2019 and it is expected that this process will be completed in time for ratification at the next Board Meeting in February.
