Week 21 brings a full programme across both days, with local derbies in Cork and Limerick and two MCU Premier fixtures on Sunday that should have a major say in momentum as the season moves deeper into the run-in.

Saturday is anchored by a strong MCU Division 1 card. At Croker’s Oval, Ballyneety, Limerick Blasters CC 1st XI host Clare CC 2nd XI in a 45-over contest that should be decided by control in the first 15 overs and how each side manages the middle phase. At Knockshigowna, Nenagh CC 1st XI welcome Midleton CC 2nd XI, where Nenagh’s home conditions often reward disciplined batting and accurate bowling, while Midleton will look to start well and avoid allowing Nenagh to set the tempo. In Tralee, County Kerry CC 2nd XI face Limerick CC 2nd XI at Oyster Oval, a fixture that typically becomes a test of who bats longer and fields cleaner; the side that turns good starts into 45-over totals should be well placed.

Cork also has a key Division 1 meeting at The Mardyke as Cork County CC 2nd XI take on Cork Harlequins CC 2nd XI. With both squads familiar with the surface and boundary dimensions, this one is likely to swing on small execution points: powerplay wickets, death-over plans, and running between the wickets. If conditions are good for scoring, expect captains to think carefully about when to use strike bowlers and when to hold them back.

Division 3 on Saturday offers three simultaneous games. Clare CC 4th XI host Limerick Blasters CC 3rd XI at Ballycasey Clare Oval, a match where batting depth and ability to rebuild after wickets could be decisive in 40 overs. United Cricket Clonmel 1st XI play Cork Harlequins CC 4th XI at Lisronagh Castle Grounds; Harlequins arrive with confidence after a strong Week 20 result, while Clonmel will be looking to use home knowledge to control the tempo through the middle overs. At Castlelands, Lismore CC 1st XI meet Waterford & District CC 1st XI in what looks a balanced contest on paper—expect the new-ball spell and fielding standards to play a central role.

Division 5 rounds out Saturday with Midleton CC 4th XI hosting Waterford Vikings 2nd XI at Townparks, and Limerick CC 4th XI welcoming Nenagh CC 4th XI at Adare Manor. In both matches, the team that keeps things simple—straight lines with the ball, limited boundary balls, and efficient running—should put itself in position, especially with 40 overs leaving little room for extended recoveries after collapses.

Sunday’s headline fixtures come in MCU Premier. At Farmers Cross, Cork Harlequins CC 1st XI host County Kerry CC 1st XI in a match that will likely be shaped by Harlequins’ response to last week’s defeat in Galway and Kerry’s ability to carry momentum from a strong Week 20 win at The Mardyke. The key battle should be how Harlequins manage Kerry’s top-order scoring and whether they can build partnerships with the bat against a disciplined attack. Across the city at The Mardyke, Cork County CC 1st XI face Limerick CC 1st XI, a fixture that often rewards structure: a clear batting plan against the new ball and bowlers who can hold length when batters look to accelerate in overs 35–50.

Division 2 has three Sunday games with plenty of interest. Waterford Vikings 1st XI host Cork Harlequins CC 3rd XI at Gracedieu West, where early overs could set the tone—particularly if there is any assistance for seam. Clare CC 3rd XI play Nenagh CC 2nd XI at Ballycasey in a match that looks well suited to the side that bats with discipline through the middle overs and keeps wickets in hand for the finish. In Adare Manor, Limerick Blasters CC 2nd XI take on Limerick CC 3rd XI in a local contest where familiarity can make it tactical; match-ups and bowling changes are likely to come early rather than being saved for later.

Finally, MCU Division 4 sees Nenagh CC 3rd XI host Lismore CC 2nd XI at Knockshigowna. With both sides aiming to control a 40-over game, this could be decided by whichever top order establishes a platform and allows their side to dictate field settings rather than react.
