In a nail-biting encounter at Adare Manor, the Cork County U17 Strikers emerged victorious over the Limerick CC U17 XI Sultans by 3 wickets in a thrilling MCU U17 T20 Superleague clash.


Limerick, batting first, got off to a shaky start, losing Alan McCutcheon early. However, a solid partnership between Ayan Ullah (24) and Shayan Ahmed Malik (15) steadied the ship. But the introduction of spin by Mark Donnelly and Cillian Ross proved to be a game-changer as they picked up 4 crucial wickets to derail Limerick’s innings. Despite late cameos from Nofil Khan (23) and McCutcheon (3), Limerick could only manage 92/8.


Chasing a modest target, Cork County got off to a flying start with Connor Milward Aherne (21) and Mark Donnelly (5) looking comfortable. However, the introduction of spin changed the complexion of the game, with Yousaf Ramay picking up three wickets to put the brakes on Cork’s chase.


With the required run rate climbing, Sahil Monmand and Cillian Donald Ross steadied the ship. But it was left to the lower order to finish the job, and they did it in style, securing a thrilling victory with just three wickets to spare.

In a closely contested MCU Women’s T10 League match at Adare Manor, County Galway Women emerged victorious over Cork County Women by six wickets.


Cork County, batting first, struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Jagrithi Thakur proved to be the nemesis for Cork County, picking up two crucial wickets at a misery economy rate of just 1 an over . Despite valiant efforts from the lower order, Cork County could only manage a modest total of 44/5. The standout batter was Ciara Spalding, who remained undefeated on 22, at a run-a-ball.


Chasing a small target, Galway got off to a steady start with Maxfield and Burkul laying a solid foundation to ensure a calm finish, guiding their team to a comfortable victory with six wickets to spare.


Jagrithi Thakur was the standout performer of the match, with her bowling and batting contributions proving instrumental in Galway’s victory. Her two-wicket haul and crucial runs with the bat earned her the well-deserved title of hero of the match.

A thrilling encounter at Croker’s Oval saw Cork Harlequins Second XI emerge victorious over Limerick Blasters First XI by 12 runs in an MCU Junior Cup clash.


Batting first, Cork Harlequins got off to a shaky start, losing early wickets. Jatin Jaitley (38) and Gul (26) steadied the ship with a crucial partnership, but the constant threat of Rahul Poulose (4-31) and Arun Kumar Harikumar (3-31) kept the Quins batters in check. A late cameo from #11 Seneth Sumanasinghe (24) allowed the score to creep up to 165, but the last wicket fell with 4 overs left.


Chasing 166 for victory, Limerick Blasters got off to an inauspicious start, and it wasn’t until the middle order were in did any momentum start to build. Regis Rex (42) and David Philip (22) started to rebuild the innings, along with Lino Varghese (24*) but the consistent pressure from the Cork Harlequins bowlers, particularly Nazmul Hasan Sajib who snared 5-40 and Zain Hafeez who picked up 3-11 , kept Limerick Blasters on the back foot and chipping away at wickets. Despite a valiant effort, Limerick Blasters fell short by 12 runs, with 10 overs still available.
