Welcoming the announcement of the funding, Munster Cricket CEO, Joseph Moynihan said : “Munster Cricket is thrilled to announce that our clubs and cricket-related projects will benefit from this latest round of funding. We extend our sincere gratitude to Minister Martin, Minister Byrne, and the Department of Sport for their continued support through this fantastic initiative.
This investment in domestic cricket will significantly aid our clubs in creating a welcoming environment for future cricketers in Munster. We encourage all eligible clubs to take full advantage of this program in upcoming rounds to enhance their facilities for members and the broader cricketing community.
Over the past year, Munster Cricket has actively supported all MCU clubs in their funding applications. It’s gratifying to witness these efforts culminate in positive outcomes for our clubs.
Cricket Ireland and Munster Cricket have consistently advocated for increased government investment in cricket to support our clubs. However, without active participation from the clubs themselves, funding opportunities may be missed. This funding provides a substantial boost for club cricket in Munster.”
