County Kerry set a formidable target of 232/7, with Stephen Jonnalagadda leading the charge with a well-crafted 57. Libin Philip also contributed significantly with a solid 62. Despite a valiant effort by the Limerick Blasters bowlers, the Kerry batsmen proved too strong.

In reply, Limerick Blasters were never truly in the hunt, losing wickets at regular intervals. The bowlers, particularly Stephen Jonnalagadda, who claimed two crucial wickets, and Libin Philip with three, were instrumental in restricting the opposition.

Limerick CC U13 XI Mungret Mavericks stormed to a convincing 72-run victory over Cork County CC U13B TIGERS in a thrilling MCU U13 Superleague Twenty20 encounter at The Farm Curraheen, Cork.

Batting first, Limerick set a formidable target of 146 runs, with Yousaf Ramay and Chinmay Jayesh Shinde leading the charge. Ramay retired on 30 from 23 balls, but Shinde’s aggressive 26 from just 19 balls helped propel Limerick to a challenging total. The Cork County bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with Aarib Ahsan picking up two wickets.

In reply, Cork County’s chase never really got going. The early loss of key wickets put them on the back foot, and despite valiant efforts from E Liam Ross (19), they were unable to keep pace with the required run rate. Only Eddie Ross reached double figures. Behroz Athar Khan was the pick of the Limerick bowlers, claiming two crucial wickets to derail the Cork County innings.

Cork Harlequins Edge Out Midleton in Thriller

A thrilling encounter at Townparks, Midleton saw Cork Harlequins 3rd XI snatch a last-gasp four-wicket victory over Midleton CC 3rd XI in a high-scoring MCU Division 2 B clash.

Batting first, Midleton posted a challenging total of 215/7, with Raja Muhammad leading the charge with a blistering 61. Prakash B S chipped in with a valuable 35 as Midleton looked set for a bigger total. However, tight bowling from Md Nazmul hasan Sajib (3/32) and Sachin Yewale (1/27) restricted the hosts.

In reply, Cork Harlequins were off to a flying start, with openers Jatin Jaitley and CC Stevenson putting on a scintillating partnership. Jaitley fell for 37, but Stevenson continued the onslaught, scoring a rapid 38 off only 20 balls. With wickets falling regularly, the game was in the balance until Sajib and Sonar steadied the ship with crucial partnerships.

The match went down to the wire, with Harlequins needing just four runs to win off the final over. With nerves jangling, Sajib finished the job in style, sealing a dramatic victory for his side.
