A busy week to report on with Premier T20, Minor Cup, return of limited overs and a range of youth matches. Sadly the rain dominated Sunday.

Premier T20 League

This season we have retained the pandemic-introduced league format to try and keep the title in play until the last ball and copy the drama of 2021.

The winners will progress to an All Ireland Semi-Final against the Leinster Champions with the winners of that looking forward to an August finals day in Cork. Plenty to aim for but sadly rain brought a miserable start to the league with all six games washed out.

Minor Cup

The first round saw three ties with the rain affecting two. This was the first running for three seasons of the Denis Mackintosh Cup, with the final due to be played at Lismore in their sesquicentennial season.

At Townparks Midleton the rain shortened the game with the home side Midleton 3rds making 154/7, which proved not enough against a strong Clonmel 1st team who won by 7 wickets.

Across in Adare overnight rain left the ground waterlogged and resulted in a bowl out. Limerick 3rds beating visitors Cork County 3rds 2-1.

At Crokers Oval, a close battling game was won by home team Blasters 2nds 210/7 to Clare 1sts 209/8.

Division 1 League

Munster’s biggest competition of 72 games continued with the halfway stage not yet reached and no clear leader at the top of the table.

Four games took place on Saturday. Nenagh 1sts 98/4 beating visitors Kerry 2nds in a low-scoring game by 6 wickets. Down in Adare, the rain came in before 20 overs in the second innings. A no result for Limerick 2nds v Midleton 2nds. Meanwhile down in Cork the same result between Cork County & Harlequins second teams at the Mardyke. At The Farm Curraheen, the rain just dried enough for UCC 1sts 109/1 to beat Blasters 1sts by 9 wickets.

Division 2 League

One game, Nenagh 2nds v Harlequins 3rds abandoned rain.

Division 3 League

Three games came through the weather, with conditions producing low-scoring results. Lismore 110/4 visited Clonmel 2nds and won by 6 wickets. Cork County 4ths, 90/1 visited Waterford and won by 9 wickets. Clare 1sts 107/0 travelled to Harlequins 4ths and won by 10 wickets.

Division 4 T20

In the final tie of the league, Clare CC 2nds were due to play Harlequins but the game was awarded as a walk-over to Quins.

U18 Superleague

A one-off game in this competition was played on Tuesday with Cork County 216 hosting Limerick, 52 to win by 164 runs.

U15 T20 League

One game, Limerick 100/7 visiting the Mardyke to beat Cork County 84 by 16 runs.
