Venue: Lisronagh Castle Grounds, Clonmel, Tipperary
Result: United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI won by 5 wickets
Waterford Vikings 1st XI: 139 all out (19.3 overs)
A determined effort by Waterford Vikings saw them post 139 runs in their 20 overs, but they fell just short of playing out the innings. Senthil Kumar (33 off 34) anchored the innings after an early loss of M Babu (12), but frequent wickets in the middle order stifled momentum.
Kumar and B Joseph put together a useful partnership, but three quick wickets between overs 11 and 13 – left the Vikings struggling at 94/7. A late burst by J Baby (15 off 9) gave them a push, and Mathew Varughese added some handy runs at the end (13*), including a pair of boundaries off Francis in the 19th over.
United Clonmel’s bowlers rotated effectively, with Anoop (3-13) being the pick, ably supported by Philip Samson Francis (2-30)
United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI: 142/5 (18.1 overs)
In response, Clonmel’s top order built the foundation for the chase with a 57-run opening stand between Muhammad Arbaz Amjad Kushar (37 off 32) and B Alfaran (37 off 37). The pair were composed and made use of some erratic Waterford bowling- the Vikings conceded 19 runs in wides and no-balls.
After the openers fell, a brief wobble saw three wickets fall for just 16 runs. Linto Jose Parokaran kept his composure and saw his side home. A no-ball four delivery that went for four ended proceedings.

Oyster Oval, Tralee – 31 May 2025
Result: Clare 1st XI won by 5 wickets
Clare 1st XI picked up a five-wicket win over County Kerry 2nd XI at the Oyster Oval on Saturday, successfully chasing a target of 174 in the Week 7 Division 1 fixture.
County Kerry 2nd XI Innings – 173 All Out (42.1 Overs)
Asked to bat first, Kerry found it difficult to build partnerships as Clare’s bowlers maintained steady lines and lengths throughout the innings.
Kerry lost early wickets and were 26/3 inside 7 overs. Usman Butt provided some momentum with a brisk 34 off 29 balls, including two sixes and two boundaries. However, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, and by the 15th over, the hosts were 48/5.
Several players made starts—Majid Yousaf (14), Niyaz Khail (14), and Fareedullah Zadran (15)—but none were able to convert them into larger scores. Extras, including wides and no-balls, added some value to Kerry’s total.
Late contributions, including a six from Saeed (20*) and some lower-order runs, helped Kerry push beyond 170. They were eventually bowled out for 173 in the 43rd over, with a handful of tail-end dismissals wrapping up the innings.
Key bowling contributions for Clare included:
- K Javed 9-1-25-3
- Vignesh 6-0-24-3
Clare 1st XI Chase – 176/5
In response, Clare reached their target with five wickets in hand. Early setbacks saw the Clare response falter to be 18/3 in the tenth over, and the innings looking somewhat precarious.
Two batters made the difference- Vignesh with an unbeaten 62, and K Javed with 65 from just 39 balls. Despite Kerry taking five wickets, they weren’t able to apply consistent pressure or disrupt the chase significantly enough to prevent the outcome. Clare crossed the finish line with wickets in hand and overs to spare, securing a solid away win.
Summary:

Clare 1st XI: 176/5
