Cricket Ireland IP20 Festival 17th-19th June: Munster Reds squad announcement
All eyes turn to the iconic Mardyke from Tuesday as the Cricket Ireland IP20 Festival rolls into town. We’re in for a smorgasbord of high-octane action with the best players in the country in action! See stars like Paul Stirling, Mark Adair, Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector and Liam Mc Carthy on the big stage, all vying for the title.
Munster Reds Head Coach Jeremy Bray, in announcing his squad said “With the loss of Gareth Delany and Curtis Campher to injury, and unavailability for the first game of Stephen Doheny, Ben White and Liam Mc Carthy, it provides us with the opportunity to bring in some of our talented Heat squad members to the group.
Munster Heat squad members Matt Brewster, Zubair Hasan Khan, Sunil Gautum, and Awais Saghir will have a great chance to impress. I’m really keen to see how they fare in the heat of the battle against some of the best players in the country. It’s been a good few weeks since our last IP game, so we are all looking forward to the next month of festival cricket and the opportunities it creates for a larger squad of players.”
Munster Cricket CEO Joseph Moynihan echoed Bray’s comments, adding “We are delighted to host the interprovincial championships this week at the Mardyke, with the top cricket players from around the country spending three days at the venue playing the first round of the interprovincial T20 Festival.
We’re hoping to have club members from throughout the Munster Cricket union attending games and to see and to meet the players and be able to have a few pictures and chat with them.
All hands are on deck for a busy week of List A Cricket in Cork!”
