CORK, IRELAND – March 18, 2026 – In a year already defined by unprecedented growth, Munster Cricket is delighted to announce the appointment of former Irish international star Jeremy Bray as the province’s new Pathway Manager.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the sport in the province. With the opening of the new High-Performance Centre, the emergence of new clubs and competitions, and the rapid rise of the women’s game, 2026 is shaping up to be the most transformative year in Munster Cricket’s history.
A Dual Role for Elite Development
As Pathway Manager, Bray will occupy a cornerstone role in the province’s cricket strategy, serving in two vital capacities:
- Head Coach – Munster Heat: Leading the representative pathway team and preparing players for the rigors of Inter-Provincial competition.
- Talent Pathway Manager: Overseeing the full youth development spectrum across Munster, identifying emerging talent, and bridging the gap between grassroots cricket and the elite international level.
A Legacy of Excellence
Jeremy Bray brings a world-class pedigree to the role. An attacking left-handed batter, Bray earned 83 caps for Ireland, amassing 2,812 runs. He remains a legendary figure in Irish sport, famously scoring an unbeaten century against Zimbabwe in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup to help Ireland reach the Super Eight stage. His domestic record is equally formidable, boasting nearly 10,000 runs in Leinster club cricket at a staggering average of 62.32.
His coaching career is as global as it is prestigious, with previous leadership roles including:
- Head Coach of the Ireland Women’s National Team
- Head Coach of Denmark Cricket
- High Performance Manager for Vanuatu Cricket
- Coach of ACT Comets (Australia) and the Munster Reds.
