Newly appointed MCU School and Club Engagement Officer (SCEO) Anu More and National Programme Co-ordinator Glenn Brokenshire had the pleasure of working with Lismore CC’s Dan Dixon and MCU Board Member Sukhi Byrne at the successful Youth Hardball and Smash It Blitz at the club on Sunday.
From the Lismore Instagram account: “What a way to close out the season for our youth sections! On Sunday, 31 August 2025, Lismore CC hosted its much-anticipated Youth Hardball Cup – the third in a brilliant initiative led by Sukhi Byrne (MCU Board). Players from all clubs were invited to join in and grow their skills and passion for the game.
Meanwhile, our FREE Smash It Blitz for 5–9-year-olds brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of cricket fun! Whether kids were our Smash It regulars, or picking up a bat for the first time, it was an unforgettable afternoon of games and excitement. Thanks for Glenn from the MCU for running it.
Huge applause to the kids, families, volunteers, and coaches whose support and energy (rain and all) made this day shine. Here’s to continued growth and a brilliant future for youth cricket in Lismore!”
