Last Friday, Development Officer Hugh Harvey-Kelly proudly represented the Munster Cricket Union at the Limerick SportsAbility event held at the University of Limerick (UL). The event was a resounding success, introducing cricket to over 40 eager participants.

The energy was evident as participants of all ages took to the field, showcasing impressive hitting skills. One group even managed to hit the ball a remarkable 30 metres over the rugby crossbar, earning themselves a sweet reward of two bars of chocolate!

From static hitting to defending stumps from bowling, participants progressed rapidly. Hugh was delighted to see many participants trying their hand at bowling, demonstrating impressive pace and spin.

Enthusiastic fielders were kept on their toes as the number of hitting stations increased from three to five. Balls flew in every direction as participants honed their skills through practice. Several exceptional catches were made during the session.

A special thanks to Limerick Sports Partnership for inviting us to their fantastic and well-attended event at the UL Arena.
