The Cricket Ireland Club Grant scheme, which is run in partnership with Munster Cricket , is now officially open from today and will be accepting submissions for club projects from 12 November 2024 until 13 January 2025.
This initiative which focuses on enhancing Irish cricket at the grassroots level, provides over €166,000 in funding to support club infrastructure, essential equipment, and inclusivity projects. Overall, the scheme covers four funding categories, each designed to meet specific club needs:
· Category One: Capital Projects (€70,000 Fund)
· Category Two: Ground Covers (€23,000 Non-Cash Fund)
· Category Three: Equipment for New Clubs (€43,000 Non-Cash Fund)
· Category Four: Inclusion Projects (€30,000 Fund)

Chief Executive Officer – Joseph Moynihan spoke earlier about the importance of the Club Grant Scheme:
“With the opportunity for clubs now to apply for this grant, the Munster Cricket Union will be supporting clubs to avail of these supports to help develop cricket further in Munster, and growing the sport is key in our region. Developing a club’s capability is a huge part of this. We hope to see all Munster clubs that are affiliated apply for this Grant. Our commitment to grassroots cricket continues to grow, and the enhanced Club Grant Scheme is a testament to this. This initiative will not only support clubs financially but will also help us create a more inclusive and welcoming cricketing community in Munster. “
Submission Guidelines
Applications must be submitted through the online portal: www.mycricketclub.ie. The grants are designed to prioritise projects that deliver measurable benefits to cricket in Ireland, particularly those that increase participation or enhance facilities. Submissions will also be reviewed by Cricket Leinster/Munster Cricket/Connacht Cricket/Northern Cricket Union/North West Cricket Union.
Key requirements include:
· Clubs must match 50% of the project cost for applications in Categories 1 and 4.
· Evidence of matched funding, such as a recent bank statement (dated within the last
three months), is mandatory.
· Subscriptions to the Provincial Union must be fully paid, and clubs must be in good
standing.
Application and Reporting
Project applications must include quotations for proposed purchases and be signed off by two club officers. Successful applicants in Categories 1 and 4 must submit detailed reports or case studies on project outcomes. Clubs delivering non-capital projects will be required to report pre- and post-program impacts.
Grant Assurance and Compliance
Clubs must ensure funds are used exclusively for approved purposes. Cricket Ireland and Provincial Unions reserve the right to audit or investigate fund usage. Non-compliance could result in repayment of the grant and exclusion from future funding.
