Our 2026 coaching calendar is officially underway! Michael Hingston led a fantastic debut session at the Sisters of Charity School in Clonmel, specifically tailored for coaches of the 5–11 age group. Participants enjoyed a perfectly balanced curriculum that bridged the gap between classroom theory and on-field practicals.

The session began with a theory component, covering key coaching principles, age-appropriate coaching methods, and best practices for engaging young players. This was followed by a range of fun, practical activities designed to demonstrate how to deliver enjoyable and inclusive sessions for children.
The coaches were actively involved throughout the course, showing strong engagement, asking questions, and participating fully in the activities. The course concluded with a game-based activity, highlighting how skills and enjoyment can be combined effectively in sessions for young players.
Overall, the course was very well received and provided coaches with useful knowledge, practical ideas, and confidence to deliver positive and engaging sessions for children aged 5–11.
Clubs represented included Lismore CC, Limerick CC, Cork County CC, Limerick Blasters and United Cricket Clonmel.
Many thanks to Principal Breen and to Sisters of Charity Clonmel. Congratulations to all 12 graduates and a big thank you to Michael for his expertise and guidance!
