Over €90k + in funding announced for cricket equipment in MUNSTER

The MCU is delighted to confirm that  more than €90,000 in Sports equipment funding for Cricket has been awarded by the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD, and Minister for Sport and Physical Education, Thomas Byrne TD,

This significant investment was announced yesterday as part of an overall Government package of €26 million in new equipment grants under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).

Welcoming the announcement of the funding, Munster Cricket CEO Joseph Moynihan said:

“We are delighted to see our clubs and projects benefiting from this latest round of funding. We would like to sincerely thank both Minister Martin and Minister Byrne and their staff for their support during this latest allocation of grants to Munster Clubs.

“This is a great  investment in our community-based sport and will greatly assist us with our plans to ensure everyone can engage with cricket,  

We are delighted for those clubs that have received support in yesterday’s announcement, and we strongly encourage all eligible clubs to avail of this fantastic scheme in future to help enhance their facilities for their members and their communities.

“ The Provincial Unions and Cricket Ireland have worked closely with clubs over the past year assisting them with applications in many ways, and it’s really great to see this work has paid dividends”.

It is expected that additional allocations for clubs that applied for solely capital works or capital works with an equipment component will be announced in the coming months.
