Munster Cricket
Managing, developing and promoting cricket throughout Munster
Munster Cricket is responsible for expanding participation in the game, creating structures and an infrastructure to support that expansion, and ensuring the long-term viability of the game in Munster.
The season runs from mid- April to mid-September, with league and cup competitions organised for different groups.
The main Adult Competitions are divided into four divisions, with each team also having the option to enter the Senior, Junior and Minor knockout cup competitions. Due to the relative shortage of cricket grounds in Munster, many of the clubs field several teams, so you will find a match going on in most clubs every weekend, with youth and social matches throughout the week.
About Munster Cricket
Munster Cricket works closely with Cricket Ireland to continue to expand cricket into new areas throughout the large catchment area that is Munster.
With government support, the Union employs, two part-time development officers who oversee the development of youth and schools cricket in the province.
Munster Senior Cup and Premier Division winners also participate in the Irish Senior Cup while the remaining senior clubs compete in the National Cup.
Munster is an excellent destination for visiting and touring teams, but you do need to make your plans early as the available days for playing matches get used up quickly for league and cup competitions.
