Adare, The Manor Fields Adare: Cork County CC Women’s 1st XI defeated County Galway CC Women’s 1st XI by 20 runs in their MCU T15 Women Superleague match on Sunday, July 13th. Cork County posted 96 for 2 and then restricted County Galway to 76 for 5.
Cork County’s Innings: Sara Kamel’s Half-Century Anchors the Total
Cork County CC Women’s 1st XI, after being put in to bat by County Galway, posted a total of 96 for 2 in their 15 overs. Early wickets of N Padaniya (1) and Dhanuja Dhananjayan (1) put them under some pressure.
However, Sara Kamel played a crucial role, retiring not out after scoring 50 runs off 39 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, anchoring the innings. Captain Ciara Spalding provided solid support, remaining not out on 18 runs off 33 balls. Cork County’s total was also significantly boosted by 26 runs in extras, including 20 wides.

Cork, The Mardyke: Cork County CC 1st XI defeated Limerick CC 1st XI by 153 runs (DLS method) in their MCU Premier Division 50-over match on Sunday, July 13th. Cork County posted a formidable 298 for 6, and a revised target after a rain interruption proved too much for Limerick, who were bowled out for 134.
Cork County’s Innings: Prophet, Sah and Andrianatos Lead the Charge
Cork County CC 1st XI, after winning the toss and electing to bat, amassed a commanding total of 298 for 6 in their 50 overs. After a solid opening partnership between S Gautam (28) and Ross Durity (26), Ritesh Sah contributed a half-century, scoring 57 runs off 72 balls, including 5 fours and a six.
The innings was then propelled by two outstanding performances. Thorne Prophet remained not out on 81 runs off 69 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, anchoring the latter half of the innings. Mark Andrianatos provided an explosive contribution, smashing 56 runs off just 34 balls, with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Cork County’s total was also significantly boosted by 25 wides and 3 no-balls.

Lismore’s Innings: Pillai and Kuriachan Anchor the Total
Lismore CC 1st XI, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a total of 172 in 34.1 overs. Their innings had a difficult start, losing early wickets, including Miguel Carolino (20), Michael Talbot (2), and Sarath Jose (10).
B Pillai then provided stability, scoring 26 runs off 41 balls. Guna Nanjappa contributed 31 runs off 33 balls, including a six. Shannon, Ballycasey Clare Oval: Clare CC 3rd XI defeated Midleton CC 4th XI by 8 wickets in their MCU Division 3B 40-over match on Sunday, July 13th. Midleton posted 207, a total Clare chased down comfortably, reaching 209 for 2.
Midleton’s Innings: Wilson and Mokashi Lead to a Competitive Total
Midleton CC 4th XI, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a total of 207 in 35.2 overs. Their innings saw contributions from Peter Thackeray (9) and Rahul Prajapati (1) early on. R Mokashi anchored the innings with 46 runs off 48 balls, including 7 fours.
Shubham Bhushan Khopade (18) and Jaspal Singh (18) also contributed. The most significant contribution came from captain Dean Wilson, who scored 48 runs off 41 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Waterford, Carriganore CG: United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI secured a commanding 221-run victory over Waterford & District CC 2nd XI in their MCU Minor Cup 40-over match on Sunday, July 13th. Clonmel posted a significant 345 for 7 and then bowled out Waterford for 124.
United Cricket Clonmel’s Innings: Kushar’s Century Powers Big Total
United Cricket Clonmel 2nd XI, after winning the toss and electing to bat, amassed a total of 345 for 7 in their 40 overs. The innings was dominated by a magnificent century from Muhammad Arbaz Amjad Kushar, who scored an incredible 143 runs, including 17 fours and 2 sixes.
