🏆 Inter-Provincial Cup (IP50) – List A

The action continues in the Inter-Provincial Cup this Tuesday as the Munster Reds welcome the North West Warriors to the iconic Mardyke in Cork — a venue known for its charm, vibrant crowds, and memorable cricketing battles.

The Reds come into this match with a point to prove after a spirited, yet ultimately unsuccessful, outing against Leinster Lightning. That performance, however, revealed several bright sparks for coach Jeremy Bray’s side. The in-form Le Roux was outstanding with an unbeaten 87*, while contributions from Safi (59), Doheny (51), and skipper Gareth Delany (44) showcased the depth of the batting unit. With the ball, Manley’s four-wicket haul will give the attack confidence heading into this key fixture.

Speaking ahead of the match, head coach Jeremy Bray said:

“The boys are really looking forward to the quick turnaround in games, especially after the performance versus Leinster Lightning where we saw some real high-quality cricket from both sides. The Warriors look very strong this year and we will have to be on top of our game. Delighted to be back at the Mardyke where we have had some real good success the last few years.”

Munster Reds Skipper Gareth Delany reflected on the Oak Hill performance: “It was disappointing to not start the competition off with a win but always knew it was going to be a tough test against the Lightning. We do have some positives to take into this match against the Warriors. It was good to see some of the new lads put in some good performances and hopefully they’ll gain some confidence at this level and bring it into the game on Tuesday. Felt like we got ourselves into positions at times in the chase to get on top but unfortunately we didn’t capitalise on them. The Warriors looked strong against the Knights so it’ll be another tough game but if we can improve on one or two areas from the other day I think we’ll put ourselves in a strong position.”

The North West Warriors, known for their powerful batting and seasoned bowling unit, pose a significant threat and are looking to build momentum in this year’s IP50. Their balanced squad and aggressive playing style make them a dangerous opponent for any side.

With both teams eager to assert themselves early in the campaign, expect a closely-fought contest filled with skill, intensity, and passion.

🎟 Fans are encouraged to come down to The Mardyke for what promises to be a thrilling day of cricket — family-friendly, competitive, and with plenty of talent on show.
