Munster Reds Announce Strong Squad for 2024 Inter-Provincial Season

The Munster Reds have unveiled a squad brimming with talent as they gear up for the upcoming Irish domestic cricket season. Under coach Jeremy Bray’s continued guidance, the team welcomes exciting young players alongside some familiar faces, aiming to make a strong push for silverware in both the Inter-Provincial T20 (IP20) and Inter-Provincial fifty over (IP50) competitions.

Fresh Faces and Returning Heroes. 

Following his impressive performance at the U19 World Cup, batting prodigy Jordan Neil joins the Reds, bolstering the middle order. All-rounders Ryan Hunter and Joshua Manley add depth and versatility to the squad.

Local heroes Ryan Joyce, and Zubair Hassan Khan will also be eager to contribute with their knowledge of Munster conditions.

Departures Make Way for New Opportunities

While the Reds welcome new talent, they also bid farewell to some established players. Veteran bowler Mick Granger as well as Finn Catherwood, Nicolaj Damgaard, Muzamil Sherzad,  Oliver Halde departed the squad. Additionally, Byron McDonough, Ryan Karunakaran, and Murray Commins are no longer listed, with Commins returning to South Africa. Thank you Murray for everything over the last few years 

Coach Bray Anticipates a Competitive Season

Coach Jeremy Bray expressed his optimism about the upcoming season, highlighting the squad’s blend of experience and youthful exuberance.

“We’re excited about the talent we have assembled,” Bray said. “The new guys coming in have a lot to prove, and we’re confident they can learn from the senior players in the squad. We have a good mix of batting, bowling, and all-rounders, which is crucial for success in both formats.”

With a strong core and exciting new additions, the Munster Reds are poised for a competitive season. The passionate Munster faithful will undoubtedly be behind their team as they chase glory in the upcoming Inter-Provincial tournaments.
