Midleton clinched the Junior Cup following 3 wicket win over Limerick at Adare on Saturday.

Both sides also observed a minutes silence in memory of former Limerick player Mustafa Sidiqi in the first game at the Adare venue since his passing.

Batting first, the home side were restricted to just 148 by a well drilled Midleton attack with Gajjar taking 3 wickets.

In response, a nervy start from the Midleton top order required a well constructed 45 from Kashif Javeed to guide them to within sight of victory. Kashif Khan then had the chance to hit the winning runs in the 41st over.

The victory meant that the East Cork side had completed a Junior double following their league win after an undefeated camapign in Division 1.
